Easweard Muybridge

Eadweard Muybridge lived from April 9th 1830 – may 8th 1904. He emigrated from England to the United States of America. His first career was a famous bookseller of antique books. He was 25 when we came to America and he worked for London printing as a bookseller. A. t this time California just became a state and it was booming with people hotels and book stores witch was great for his business. He had to take of his brother so he stopped selling books. He was willing to sail to England to buy more antique books, but misses the boat taking him there. He decided to take a stagecoach and then sail back. The stagecoach crashed that he was in and he suffered orbitofrontal cortex injuries. This was a huge thing that impacted and triggered his photography career.

From 1861 to 1866 Eadweard took professional photography classes. This triggered him to stop taking up writing and go toward photography and stop motion pictures.  A wealth businessman stand Foard a racehorse owner hired Eadweard later on in his career for photographic studies. Easweard also wanted to know I the horse would have all his feat off the ground when it is galloping but know one ever had a photo because there was also one leg on the ground. So stand Foard hired hired him to solve the question. Eadwared is now famous for this work and it is called the 1878 horse in motion and how he did this was he lined up numerous large glass plate camera shutters around the track and it was triggered by the tread of the horse when it passed by. But we know now that he used clock work to take the photo. This created a new wave because it showed people that the horses legs were all off the ground when they were underneath not when they were extended.

He moved back to England to write a book about his artwork. Some of his other artwork is very famous because of the stop motion is boys playing leapfrog 1887. His artwork had really taken off because he was the first person to create stop motion pictures. He was not recognized for his work because someone else hired him.  This triggered him to create 10000 images of his own and very famous for all his work.

1945 Nagasaki, taken by the U.S. Air Force was the next photo I chose.  This photo illustrates the horrible event when the US bombed Japan in to end WW2. This photo shows when the bomb exploded how powerful it actually was to kill thousands of people in seconds. This photo is very powerful because it was taken at a time when people were just getting to know about what was going on in the war because television was out, so it was really powerful for everyday people to actually see what there country did. I think this photo is very breath taking because the amount of lives lost was astronomical and to actually see what took their lives is crazy. I think that the countries should learn from this photo and not let anything like this happen again.

1950 Segregated Water Fountains in North Carolina by Elliott Erwitt was the next photo I did. The impact this photo had on the world was very eye opening. The reason this photo was eye opening was because it shows the racism of that time and that colored people could not even drink the same water as white people. This photo really shows society and people that when this was going on how bad it was and how the world has to change. I personally think this photo Is import for people to look at in everyday life to see how bad it was for colored people back then so it never happen d’s again

Roger Fenton calls the photograph 1855 Valley of the Shadow of Death. It is ranked second on the list of the photographs that changed the world. A photograph could not be taken in battle because of the time it took to be set up but Roger arranged for this area to be cleared with the cannon balls across the Barren Landscape.  The reason this is so impactful to society is because it shows a vast amount of area that people have risked their lives for their freedom of their country. My view on this photo is that it captures the darkness of this time and the time of how much destruction and death goes on after the battle. It also shows how big the area was that they battles and distraction is as far as the eye could see.

1)   How does the film respond to complex problems occurring in our society? I think that people in the world today don’t know how there actions are affecting the world. People and company’s around the world are just trying to make money and no looking at the effects that it has on the world. This film is bringing the awareness of the problem and showing to the people that it is not right what they are doing and that it has to stop and it is films like this that change the world.

2)   How does Rob Stewart make an impact in this film? I think that the impact on this movie that Rob Stewart has is he is the person telling the public what is wrong. I think that what he is doing is good because he is going into places that no one goes and shows the public what is really happening to sharks. He also goes under water and shows us that sharks are friendly and that they are being killed and that they will slowly go extinct. Also he shows us that one person can make a difference you just have to stand up to what you believe it and that’s why he made this movie.

3)   Did this film help you make informed decisions about the humane treatment of living creatures and shark finning? Yes this movie did how it did was it showed me how the sharks and animals that we eat everyday are killed. It shows you that companies do lie to the public and that it is really bad because we don’t know what is going on. The movie that is made really shows everyone no lies and the truth that goes on in the world.

4) Would you ever think of making a documentary as a career?  List some of the technology Rob Stewart uses to communicate in this film.  I would make a documentary but it is giving up your whole life for the movie and to really show he public what is going on. I think that when he went underwater and actually showed us that sharks are not scary and that that are calm if you are it showed us that we don’t need to be afraid of them. Also when he showed all the fins and that the government knows about it but lets it go on really shocked people.

Google glass is a phone and a computer combined into one product and it is called Google Glass. It is a product that lets you talk text search up anything take photos and many other things with out having to look down or take out your phone. You just have to say google glass and tell it what to do and it will do it. It is a great invention in my view because it creating a new wave of inventions. They are test marking it now so the bugs can be fixed before you buy it.

if i were to make a documentary about anything that i wanted it would be about Golf. why i would choose this is because the amount of history that golf has goes way back. There are also know documentary's about golf. People view golf as a very boring sport to watch but they do not realize the traditions that come with the came the respect the etiquette and values that you learn. I also think that they could make it very interesting because of all the views you get when you go on the golf courses. Also the amount history and wealth at one golf course is astronomical and the facts they could say in the movie would be amazing.

The documentary I am going to talk about is The Greatest Movie Ever Sold. why i choose this documentary is because it is very interesting about how one man has an idea about making a movie where advertisements and company's buy out the movie. This movie is great to show everyone how much advertisements are actually effecting our everyday life and how we are really influenced by them. it also shows us how many Ads are in movies that we don't take into consideration.
